Event Start Date: now
Event Deadline: ongoing

Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to "Invite a Blogger to Your Table"! This is a fun event and an outlet for us each to challenge ourselves and create stronger bonds within the blogging community. Nothing is more intimate, or more effective at creating friendships than cooking and sharing meals together, even it is virtually. But hey, if you live in the same area as another blogger what's to stop you from gathering in your own kitchen for this challenge.

Choose a dish to prepare and invite 1(one) blogger to create that dish with you. You can source your recipe from a cookbook, magazine, blog or any other source. Your dish can be sweet or savoury; easy or complicated.

Decide upon a date that you can both mutually post your recipe within a 4 week time frame.

Random Recipes

Hosting Blog:
Belleau Kitchen

Theme: Baking

Event Start Date: now
Event Deadline: 31 May 2012

i'd like you to randomly select a book from all your books and then, for a first time in random recipes, you get to choose either the first page of that book, or the last page, whichever takes your fancy... and cook that recipe... it's an intriguing idea because you'd expect that most cookbooks start with starters and soups and end with desserts but scouting my books that's very often not the case depending on the theme of the book... and even when it is, that first recipe is often a surprise... go have a look!

... usual rules apply:

This month, it’s time for something richer so I’m setting an ingredient-based theme: chocolate!
You can make ice cream, sorbet, frozen yoghurt, lollies… you can use white, milk or dark chocolate… you can add chocolate chips, a chocolate swirl or make a rich chocolate sauce to serve over the top… you can even encase it in a choc ice shell. As long as your creation is ice cold and contains a good dose of chocolate, it’s good!

Event Name:
One Ingredient

Hosting Blog:
How to Cook Good Food

Theme: Lemons

Event Start Date: now
Event Deadline: 31 May 2012

The idea behind the challenge is for us to pick an ingredient and you to submit a recipe into our monthly #oneingredient linky. The recipe can be either sweet or savoury depending on the chosen ingredient.
I have to admit that May is not a particularly good month for seasonal British fruits. Although I have noted that gooseberries and elderflowers are in season, I have to admit that they do not make an appearance in our garden or allotment until June. We toyed with the idea of watercress or asparagus but what we finally plumped for is LEMONS.

They can be used in either a sweet or a savoury fashion. In fact lemons are brilliant both ways so I hope that we shall see an interesting variety of entries this month!
